Wow, what an Olympic competition!

Ok, please tell me that I'm not the only person who has been glued to the TV watching the Olympics this week. And what a feat for Michael Phelps to win 8 gold medals in these games, the last one with a little help (ok, a lot of help!) from his relay partners just a few minutes ago! It's fun to see history in the making and exciting enough to lure me along with a couple of my stamping friends (hi Jill and Karen!) away from stamping at my Open House last night for long enough to watch Friday night's race for Michael's dramatic gold medal #7. Pretty dramatic competitions and how exciting to be able to watch it and I'm not even into swimming or gymnastics....I guess during the Olympics, everyone becomes a sports fan. WTG, USA! But my favorite part of all was watching him fight his way up into the crowd to hug his family after the awards ceremony. Yes, I am a sentimental sap!
Now, you may be wondering why I haven't figured out how to make my photos match up with the text but I am not such an Einstein when it comes to technology so I am lucky to have a blog at all, let alone one with photos. However, the above photo is of me with one of my long time "cyberstamper" friends, Lisa Marie taken at the SU convention earlier this month. Lisa Marie is a Stampin' UP! demonstrator and it's usually pretty easy to find her in a crowd since she is always accompanied by her beautiful guide dog Max. I'm on the far left, Lisa Marie is in the middle and her sweet mother on the far right. Max is the handsome fellow with the floppy ears! I chose this photo to post today because just like our Olympic athletes are inspirations, Lisa Marie has been a stamping inspiration to me for 5 years since we first met at a convention. Being a stamper is great fun, making it easy for a creatively challenged individual like myself to create fun and quick card projects, but I'm not sure how well I would do if I was legally blind like my friend, Lisa Marie and another friend, Michelle O (not pictured) who is one of my good friends from stamp club here in O'Fallon. They are not sports competitors but they are both my stampin' heros and definitely an inspiration to me! Have a great week-end and I promise some stamping pictures in my next post. I will share pictures of the projecs we did at my Open House yesterday. Jan
