Buy a pre-selected stamp set for the regular price and receive the accompanying wheel (see below) for free! That's an $8.50 wheel free when you buy the coordinating stamp set.

Another stamp club project pic

Well, the recent snow caused me to have to postpone my Tuesday stamp club meeting....I know that some of my stampers would rent a snowplow to get them here if they thought it would help but with the weather forecast predicting 6 to 10 inches of snow and the snowflakes still coming down hard in mid afternoon, I made the tough decision of postponing our meeting until the March 11th. Really a bummer since my youngest son, Adam and I had already shoveled off the driveway and sidewalk. I think we will need to get a snowblower once he graduates high school this spring and goes off to college!

My Sunday stamp club gals stamped on a clear sunny day with the temps reaching almost 70 degrees and 2 days later? Snow!!! Crazy weather! I have no room to complain....one of my friends in Wisconsin was excited when they predicted things would "warm up" to 30 degrees!

So, now that the snow is melting I will share a photo of our other stamp club project. This one uses the new Sticky Cut alphabet letters from SU, many people are attaching beads or chunky glitter with these but I went with the clear Dazzling Diamonds glitter. The "i" for the word "hi" was made by cutting a strip of cardstock at a similar height to the "h" and I dotted the "i" with the 1/2" circle punch and a piece of Cutie Pie designer paper to coordinate with the paper strip on the fold over cuff. This projects used the textured Wild Wasabi cardstock which is on special until the end of April and comes precut and prescored! I love textured cardstock, it's so....well, textured!!! One version of this card has a happy birthday greeting on the pull out card (Birthday Whimsy, Stampin' UP! SAB set) while the other one uses a Happy Mother's Day greeting (Hugs and Wishes) with a Thinking of You stamp from For a Friend, Level 1 HS. That way everyone could pick whatever type of card they wanted to make.
Let me know what you think of the cards, I always love to hear your opinions! Jan

A little week-end stamping!

I finally had a chance to do some stamping this week-end....bet you thought I had forgotten all about my new blog, but nothing could be farther from the truth! This bright and cheerful card with the cherry sprig is one of the projects for my March stamp club. It's stamped with the Tart and Tangy stamp set from the new Stampin' UP! Occasions mini catalogue and uses the beautifully coordinating designer paper called "Summer Picnic". I had no idea that I would like this set so much when I ordered it as part of a "bundle" deal at the Stampin' UP! Leadership conference back in January but I am glad that I got it. It only takes a few great samples to make me fall in love with a set that I didn't know I was going to like!

The acetate M&M box and the little pink "Love" card (made with For a Friend, a Level 1 hostess set in the 2008 Spring/Summer Stampin' UP! catalogue) were made for a wedding shower for friends from church who are getting married in late March. A check is often a welcome gift but a little boring so I tried to sweeten it up with a little treat in a stamped acetate box! I discovered the tutorial for this box on another blog, go check it out and give it a try! http://laurenm.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com/2008/02/13/dove-chocolate-boxes-d-template-and-a-recipe/

I'm on Stamper's Showcase today!

For a Stampin' UP! demonstrator, there is nothing as exciting as finding your artwork published on the Stamper's Showcase, an online photo gallery on the demonstrator side of the Stampin' UP! website. This is a card that I made for a St. Patrick's Day project for my Feb '08 stamp clubs, when SU put out a call for cards using Wild Wasabi cardstock, I was happy to e-mail my card to them but was both pleased and surprised when it was actually published! I guess there is something to be said for being an early responder to the call for artwork!

This card is done with all Stampin' UP! images and supplies. I used Full Calendar, Mark the Date and Celebrate Everything along with the "Pinch Me" Stampin' Around jumbo wheel. Other supplies include white, black and Wild Wasabi textured cardstock & ticket corner punch. copyright Stampin' UP! 2008
There is a little "dot" stamp in the Mark the Calendar set but I have also found it easy to use the flat tip of a pencil eraser, a little idea which I learned during my long ago tole painting days.
Thanks for looking! Jan

Check out my Stampin' UP! Demonstrator website!

News flash! I've become a blogger!

After watching my friends play with blogs for the past year or so, I have finally made the transition from "blog? what's that?" to the proud owner of my own blog! Now, I have no idea what I am doing so please bear with me as I explore the brave new world of blogging.

Of course, I do plan to share some stamping here and there....as soon as I figure out what I'm doing and how to upload photos! Jan
