Snow Swirled

This beautiful card was "stamplifted" from the Holiday Mini SCS gallery for Snow Swirled, it was created by Cheryl Miller and I incorporated it into my Headstart on the Holidays class. It was quite popular and several of the ladies at class took advantage of the 15% off special on this set because of it.

What a simple and quick card! Before I cleaned up my stamp room "post class" I went around and finished up most of the cards that were leftover and this one went so fast that I was able to do several of them in just a few minutes while I was on the phone with my sister. Yes, I have a headset so being "hands free" did help a bit as well.

The unusual shaped diecut is called Top Note and it's one of the new dies for the Big Shot which has become so very popular for obvious reasons. No 40% off coupon for this diecut....it's an SU exclusive! I simply ran the white and Brilliant Blue cardstock thru the Big Shot with that die in place and that's about all there is to it.

Of course, the perforated edge on the the top layer was peeled off to show the blue underneath but seriously, that was the hardest part of this card.

1. I stamped the beautiful snow swirled tree on the white panel and stamped the holiday sentiment on top, peeled away the perforated row and sponged some Brilliant Blue ink around the edges of the white panel before layering on the blue diecut.
2. Wrapped some of the silver stretchy metallic cord around the bottom of the panel and tied a knot. I was so happy to see this silver cording in the Holiday mini...I really enjoy working with it.
3. Stamped snowflakes randomly on the white base in Brilliant Blue. Yes, I LOVE this color for winter cards and especially snowflakes! The base is actually 10.5" long x 4 " wide and folded in half, this way it is easy to write on the white inside portion of the card. Of course, there is a Christmas sentiment which comes with the set and I have stamped that on the inside but it's hiding right now.
4. Layer the white and blue diecut panel onto the stamped white snowflake panel and then layer all of that onto a plain base of Brilliant Blue c/s (a quarter sheet) to give it a little extra "pop".

That's all she wrote! This is such an easy and quick layout but you would never know it from looking at the card. Thanks Cheryl Miller for sharing your talents with us via SCS! Jan

this is the first card with this set that I have really liked! I like how the bigshot die is sponged around the edges and brings more depth to the card.
