ya gotta love this cute little golfer!

Yes, the fellow on the left IS a very cute little golfer but the one I'm talking about is the guy on the card (shown a bit larger further down the page. This was a card I submitted for an Occasions Mini swap back at the beginning of the year and glory be! I made an extra to use as a birthday card for my son (the taller golfer shown above) on his recent birthday.

I love this little set...sure hope it sticks around for the new catalogue which will be available starting July 1st. It has a cute little lawn mower as well as the golfer and some appropriate sentiments such as Happy Father's Day, Happy Birthday, Hope your day is "par-fect" and "I love you mower every day". These particular items fit very well into the preferences of the males in my family....they are all golfers and all equally experienced with the lawn mower!
For this card I used the Big Shot Harlequin patterned Texturz plate to give a little oomph to the Always Artichoke cardstock. Stamped the golfer on confetti white then layered on Sahara Sand, then ran a strip of the extra wide double stitched chocolate chip grosgrain ribbon underneath the stamped image and popped one of the jumbo white grommets on the ribbon. Not only did it help keep the ribbon in place but it reminded me of a golf ball! The sentiment at the bottom left fits perfectly into the large oval punch and layers so nicely on the scalloped oval punch (new in the Occasions mini) then I had to add a little brad just for kicks to carry out that golf ball theme. The Artichoke panel is attached to a folded chocolate Chip card and I put a confetti white layer on the inside for my birthday message so I wouldn't have to use a gel pen to sign the card. Adam seemed very pleased with the card....or maybe he's grinning because of what he found inside??
I will definitely be using this great little set with a simplified layout for my "Manly Men" masculine card class being held this Friday, May 22nd. Yes, I know that is the Friday of the Memorial Day holiday and yes, I know that I am crazy but I really wanted to get this Manly Men class in well before Father's Day. If you are interested in attending but haven't contacted me yet, be sure to let me know asap so I can add your name to the list! Jan
