Ronald McDonald needs YOUR help!

I got an e-mail today from my friend, Sherrill Graff who is the heart and soul behind a great group of Stampin' UP! demonstrators known as "the Late Night Stampers". Sherrill is instrumental in helping the Ronald McDonald House organization in Las Vegas, NV. Did you know that Ronald has "houses"near many major medical centers throughout the country (including a house near me in St. Louis, MO) where families of kids fighting serious illness can stay to be near their kids. Greeting cards for the kids are among many of the things needed at the RMH and that's where you can help out. Sherrill's goal for this month is to create and donate 300 more cards for the Las Vegas House which is in desperate need of encouragement for the children. If you are interested in helping out by making some cards or have some old greeting cards which you would like to donate to be recycled, please check the links shared below for more info and please know that anything is welcome.

And for those of you who have been wondering where in the world I have been....well, I must confess that I have been a real blog slug and haven't posted for months other than sharing an occasional link. Since I last posted, I took an amazing trip to Salt Lake City for the annual Stampin' UP! convention...what fun!!! In addition to getting to hang out with my stampin' buddies and do some amazing swaps (which I brought home to share!) I also won a prize!!! Whoo hoo! When you check in, you receive a cool exclusive SU bag with 4 sets of NEW stamps in it which we use those to do the make and take projects during convention. They also give you a wristband to wear throughout the convention...this is your ticket to "the Prize Patrol"! Throughout the week, they announce prize winners by flashing a photo of one of the prize bands...if you are wearing the band color on the screen then YOU are a winner! You can not imagine the excitement level when they announce that it's time for Prize Patrol....sometimes I think it wouldn't matter what the prize was, it's just the thrill of winning! So, even though I don't usually have a lucky streak when it comes to prizes, I won a prize on the very last Prize Patrol award of the convention. Yes, I was excited...yes, I jumped up and down and squealed with the rest of the winners. Even though my prize was not something I would ever purchase, it is kind of nice to have it. I won the organizational file folders (done in this year's great new In Colors) shown on page XXX in the new catalogue AND a stamp set. The funny part is it has a stamp that says "I Love Lists"....if you know me, you are probably laughing at hearing that. Not the world's most organized person out there and lists are NOT my friend! lol! But it's such fun to win and I may actually surprise myself and start stamping up little lists here and there. Ok, so maybe not? However, I still had fun winning a prize....go Stampin' UP!

Ok, enough babbling for now. I have a lot of fun things coming up in the next few weeks so I promise to come back to my blog later this week with some photos from convention and share some of the news about a great new exclusive Stampin' UP! digital scrapping program called My Digital Studio which will be released this Fall. That's even exciting for a non-scrapper like me...I might have to start digging out those old digital photos and actually do something with them. Jan
