Stamp Club projects for this week!

Yes, it's really and truly me and not only am I posting after months of silence but I even have photos of projects to share! More specifically the projects we'll be doing at my stamp club this month...I have to confess that I still struggle with getting the SU copyright watermarked onto my photos so I am cheating again and took pictures with the SU copyright stamp in the background instead. I am smart enough to figure out a blog and how to surf the net but somehow getting a watermarked image onto a photo is too much for me? Sad...but true!

The two photos above show some stamp club projects we're doing tomorrow...the card with Santa and his sleigh is one that I did at a class put on by my friend Sharon. She is such a talented individual and I love taking her classes because she comes up with such great cards AND because I feel so spoiled when someone else does all of the work and all I have to do is make the card! So, when I was looking at my samples this evening trying to decide what we'll be doing for stamp club, I thought why not this darling card! The Christmas card uses the Santa and sleigh image from a Holiday Mini set called Wandering Words. I love this set because it has a little something for everything....autumn/fall/ Thanksgiving, Christmas and Valentine's Day. I'm sure you will see it again later!
To get the glittery snowy hill we cut Whisper White cardstock in a "wave" pattern to go along the bottom of the card and coated it with Tombow Multi adhesive (a little bit goes a LONG way!) then sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds glitter. VERY festive...and you know what they say about glitter? It's the herpes of the crafting world....once you get into it you will never get rid of it.
The second photo is a cute little treat bag that I actually thought up all by myself! Amazing, right? I am a darn good copycat but I rarely come up with original ideas so I was very pleased with myself when this turned out. This little "doggie bag" uses the skeleton from Twick or Tweet (also in the Holiday Mini) but here's the catch...as you look at it you will notice there is a dog hanging off the skeleton's bony leg and it says "enjoy every bite". lol! The funny thing is that I only bought this set to get the cute litle Peeps style chick wearing the Halloween mask! Now the skeleton is my favorite....but then I'm a dog lover.
To make this I used the Top Note Sizzix diecut and folded it in half then used the Stampamajig (stamp positioner) to stamp the skeleton. Ordinarily I don't mess with the SAMJ but the skeleton fits just perfectly on the Top Note so I didn't want to have to stamp it 3 or 4 times to get one right. The small cello bags hold small dog biscuits perfectly...the Halloween colored crinkles give it a festive touch and then I just colored in the doggie with a Creamy Caramel marker and sponged Only Orange around the outside edge of the Top Note die. The Top Note is stapled onto the cello bag and that's all there is to it! I made these for a local craft fair and had some leftovers so have been having fun giving Doggie Treat bags to my dog loving friends and just couldn't resist throwing this in as an extra stamp club project since I had plenty of leftover milkbones from my craft fair projects.
There is another project from this month's stamp club but I will save that for another post on another day as I have to get my stamp room cleaned up and ready for my downline meeting and squeeze in some leftover pizza for dinner before they arrive. I promise that I will be back SOON with another stamping project for you. BUT since I have some extras of the craft fair doggie biscuits I have a special offer for my blogger friends....everyone who places an online order between now and Halloween will receive a "doggie bag" from me. No minimum on the order but remember there is a minimum shipping charge of $6.95 so make it count. The only requirement is that you have to e-mail me and let me know that you ordered and want your "doggie bag"...that way I'm sure that I am extending the offer as a little thank you to my blog readers. Happy stamping! Jan
