Feelin' blue, my friend? (Late Night Stampers Blog Challenge 209)

I am trying hard to keep my New Year's resolution  to share pictures of stamped projects on my blog and last week I started participating in the Late Night Stamper's weekly blog post challenge.  What fun to see the great projects being shared and to share my own....so I am posting again to this week's challenge "Feelin' Blue" which required that the card be "mostly blue".  Since Pacific Point is the only color on this card,  I am hoping that it qualifies for the blog challenge!

This particular stamp set is called "Just Thinking" ....a new "single stamp" available in the Stampin' Up! Spring Mini....I fell in love with it immediately because it uses the Windows Framelits Collection dies for that great "window" shape!  Once I started playing with it, I wanted to keep the focus simple and on the stamp so stamped it in Pacific Point and cut it out with the framelit then used a slightly larger card stock mat in the same color to layer it.  Pretty fast and easy but I really love the contrast of blue and white.  I ran the white base through the new honeycomb embossing folder to give it some interest without detracting from the main image....it's hard to tell but there is a little gem in the "doodad" at the top of the card too.  I made several cards...some with a pearl and others with a rhinestone, both equally pretty!

I based this card on another card I made for the Stampin' Up! Leadership conference in Orlando this past January but simplified it quite a bit with minimal layers and only one color.  I think I prefer this version but I will post the "stepped up" version soon and you can decide for yourself.  Now that I've taken a picture of this card, I can get it in the mail to a friend who needs a pick me up!

For those who just love a "recipe", here's the short and sweet list of what I used to make this card.  As always, these items are available from my Stampin' Up! web store.
