Petite Pocket die to the rescue!

I had the pleasure of doing a workshop for a good stamping friend the other night so decided that I had better come up with a cute hostess gift wrap for the little incentive stamp which I like to present to my hostesses.....after all, it's all about the packaging, right?                                                                       I                                                                                     Posted by Picasa
Thankfully I have the Petite Pocket Sizzix Big Shot die and that makes it easy!  Using a sheet of the limited edition Designer Series paper from the Sycamore St. DSP (available free with $50 purchase during Sale-a-Bration (SAB),,,don't you love free?) for my inspiration, I cut the "pocket" out of Crumb Cake cardstock then took a small scrap of the DSP and ran it thru the same die over the top flap so I'd have a handy piece to layer perfectly on the inside of the pocket flap.   I ran the front of the flap thru the Chevron embossing folder but it's a little hard to see in the photo unless you squint and peek at the bottom left corner of the project.  I would take another photo but I barely managed to remember to take a pic of it at all and then only because my hostess let me borrow her cell phone charger to plug in my dead battery and use my phone to snap pics so I guess I should just be happy that I have this picture! ;-)

The stamped image of the little elephant is from the new SAB set called Patterned Occasions and I love that little elephant!  I selected colors to coordinate with the DSP flap which is why the elephant is stamped in pool party with his ear flap in Island Indigo...I inked up the stamp with Pool Party then used an Island Indigo marker to go over his ear and the "Thanks a ton!" sentiment.   Because the Indigo is a darker color it works great and doesn't discolor the marker if you are using a marker color that is darker then the base color.  I love quick tips like that, don't we all?

The stamped elephant was punched out using the 1 3/4" circle punch and layered on the Window Frames framelit which corresponded in size.  I got that marvelous idea from a fellow demonstrator friend, Connie Babbert  who shared a card sample using that combo recently. /Visit Connie's blog here!  Of course, the Island Indigo ruffled ribbon helped balance out the color scheme and besides, what project is ever complete without a little ribbon???

The little "thanks" stamp peeking out of the top of the packet is from an incentive stamp set available for demonstrators only to use for little gifts, etc. so if you don't recognize it, that is probably why BUT if you really want one, don't worry...just give me a call me and book a party then I will let you choose whichever incentive stamp you want from my basket!  This works even for a catalogue party in case you live far away or don't have time to squeeze in a party.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing this projects.  If you are interested, here is the run down on the supplies I used for this project, except for the "Thanks" stamp they are all available for purchase in my online store.
