Would not a rose, by any other name, smell as sweet?

Well, here's that rose!

Ok, so I don't quote Shakespeare very often but in this case, I just couldn't resist....I hope that Romeo and Juliet will forgive me.  I've had the Rose Wonder stamp "bundle" (stamp and framelits set "bundled" together for cost savings) since the Occasions Mini came out back in January and have enjoyed making many different projects with it.  This one is very simple but one of my favorites so far.

To make the above card, I let the silver foil metallic cardstock take the staring role....I just cut the large rose/leaf outline framelit  out of silver metallic foil and adhered it directly to a piece of Night of Navy cardstock....don't you love that pop of silver on dark blue?  Since the foil paper is metallic on one side and white on the other, it can be used as a folded card BUT why would you do that when you can save on the specialty papers by cutting the layer to flower out of it and then using the intact edges of the piece as a layer underneath?  I cut the foil piece to 4." x 5.25" and arranged the framelit die keeping the edges intact to use for a layer, then added a folded white card behind it.

So the "sandwich" goes like this....Night of Navy 3.75"x5", Silver layer 4.0"x5.25" and a piece of white cardstock measuring 5.5x8.5", scored at 4.25" for the folded card so it gives you a nice white layer to stamp another birthday verse or write a personal note (or both?)  on the inside.

This is a card that is very easy to do in batches....cut all the cardstock layers at the same time, crank out the framelit pieces stamping first for the bday sentiment) and stick them all together.  Hopefully you won't need it, but there is a lovely sympathy greeting that fits the framelit along with a nice inside verse in the same set if you find yourself in need of one. Here is a small photo of a very similar sympathy card  if you'd like to see another idea, I  stamped the little frame portion on this card.

Whisper White cardstock was used to cut out the flower/leaf image for this sample and a tiny little butterfly punched from yellow cardstock with  bit 'o bling in the form of a clear rhinestone added to the cut out sympathy sentiment,  I thought the white cardstock flower seemed more subdued for a sympathy card.  Those items are also listed in the "supply showcase" at the bottom of this post. I neglected to add this to the showcase but I also ran the black cardstock layer thru the Zigzag embossing folder (item # 1337380).  This item will not carry over so last day to get the Zigzag folder is May 31st (or while supplies last).

For the sentiment on the card shown in the first photo, I chose Happy Birthday from the same bundled set and  stamped it on white cardstock with Night of Navy ink then cut it out with a framelit from the Rose Wonder same framelit set.  I think it shows up very nicely layered on the dark blue background, am I right?

While this set IS carrying over too the new 2016-17 Annual catalogue, the "bundle pricing" is if you want to save 15% on the cost of the stamp and framelit set, be sure to pick it up before the catalogue changes over.  Last day to order at the bundle price is May 31st.  If you don't already have a preferred demonstrator, I would be delighted if you choose me as your Stampin' Up! demonstrator.   You can order from my online webstore http://www.janhoyt.stampinup.net OR simply click on the picture below to order anything you need to create this card.  If you place an order for less than $150, please use hostess code 9NHCMDQQ when placing your order and I would really appreciate it.

Hope that you have enjoyed seeing some beautiful but simple ideas to use with the Rose Wonder
