well,it's about time.....for stamping!

Yep, finally after an entire week of silence, I am finally getting an actual stamped item posted! Not that I stamped it myself, this card was made by one of my very talented stamping buddies, Kim Grimm. She was getting creative in a "LSC" (limited supplies challenge) in her hotel room at convention trying to figure out a shoebox swap card with whatever supplies she had at hand. Pretty good stamping job considering she hadn't planned to do a shoebox swap until AFTER she arrived in SLC, isn't it?

She used the Dreams Du Jour stamp set along with Bella Rose designer paper and the scallop edged punch. I especially love the little halfback pearls in the top corners of the stamped focal piece. Several of the gals in our group signed up for this swap hosted by the Late Night Stampers group without planning to do it in advance. We all really had fun coming up with swap cards for the shoebox swap but imagine our surprise the day after the shoebox swap when we realized the theme of the swap was "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" and the cards were supposed to be funny! The only thing funny about our swaps was the looks people must have been exchanging wondering why we thought our cards were funny! lol! But they were very gracious and welcomed us even without funny cards...thanks, LNS! Can't wait for convention next year....I am already planning to meet up with the LNS gang as I met a lot of friends I'd known previously via the internet stamping groups and also made some new friends at the same time.

While I haven't done any personal stamping this week, I am finishing up the samples for my zero calorie Card Buffet class coming up on Oct 17th. Some of my blog reading friends are already planning to come, but if you are in the O'Fallon, IL & haven't signed up yet and would like more info on this class, check it out on my events calendar http://www.janhoyt.stampinup.net/ to see if it fits into your schedule. I'd love to see you there! Jan

That is a beautiful card and pretty amazing that she was able to make it with just the supplies on hand! That's a funny story about the swap, and I can just imagine the funny faces you were getting... LOL!
