Delightful Decorations

I have seen a lot of card samples done with the Delightful Decorations ornaments set from the holiday mini...I love that set! As soon as I saw it had a matching punch I knew it would become a favorite! I have seen some beautiful holiday sets as well as some other creative ideas for fish, hot air balloons, etc. and I am always amazed at the creativity of some of my fellow stampers....I look at an image and see an ornament but my creative compadres look at an ornament and see a variety of other things! I will share some of those ideas as I have a chance to copy them (hey, I never claimed to be original, just a good copycat!)

So, back to the card...this sample uses one of our new floral embossing folders, "Petals A Plenty" which has a poinsettia pattern for the background paper, the Delightful Decorations set and matching punch and the Merry Christmas sentiment on the front is from the Level 2 hostess set Christmas Punch. I did the card using Bermuda Bay ink because it's one of my favorite colors and because I really like that color for a non-traditional Christmas card. Here's the picture!
The only tricky part of this card is getting the stretchy elastic silver thread tied around the tip of the punched out ornanent, other than that it's a quick and easy card! I snipped the thread after I tied it then took a second piece and stuck it to the back of the ornament with a dimensional then stretched the thread around to the back of the embossed sheet and attached the end with adhesive. Other than that, just attach the embossed sheet to the Bermuda Bay cardstock and punch out then attach the sentiment and voila! you are done! Well, you can't see it from the sample but I also stamped the small Merry Christmas stamp on the back of the card for that final touch.
Hope you liked the card....stay tuned for more pictures later this week! Jan
