Pun Fun "Love You a Latte"

I have had this stamp set for quite a long time and hardly ever use it....not sure why because I love this little coffee cup image!  The stamp set is called Pun Fun and it has 8 different images (a little corny but cute!) for almost every occasion.  My friend Lyssa Z from Watertown, Wisconsin (her amazing blog is called Song of My Heart Stamper")  shared this card on her blog and I couldn't think of a way to improve on it so I cased it in almost every detail with one little exception.  I didn't have any of the Designer Series paper that looks like newsprint...so I got crazy and found an old newspaper in the recycling bin to cut into strips for the cards.  I would rather have used the nice smooth finish of the DSP than the rough textured newspaper but I had to make due.  Of course, since the recycling had already gone out I was a little bit limited on the newsprint options...the Dow Jones reports were on one side and the obituaries on the other!  We decided the stock market would be the better choice!  ;-)  I loved the idea of the morning cup of coffee and the newspaper so I had to do it!       

The coffee cup image was stamped on Naturals White cardstock using Timber Brown StazOn ink so it could be watercolored with the Aqua Painter and the Natural White cardstock square was distressed around the edges with a distressing tool from the Cutter kit just to give it a bit of personality!                                                                                  

The "ric rac" looking trim is from a great diecut called Tasteful Trim which makes a very nice border on the card.  It will cut 4 different ric-rac style trims in a 12 inch length....perfect for 12x12 scrapbook borders or for cards.   A little vanilla grosgrain ribbon tied  up with an accent of Early espresso Baker's Twine sinishes it off, the Baker's Twine is a new accessory in the Summer Mini and what a cute look...available in several colors, too!  Thanks, Lyssa. for sharing the card idea!  This set will only be available through June 30th so if you have decided that you would like to have "a cuppa" with your morning paper, don't wait too long!
