Lovin' these butterflies!

I have always been partial to butterflies so I made sure these cuties from the 2013 Sale-a-Bration stamp sets were on my first order! You can't buy this stamp set but you can "earn" one for every $50 purchase from Stampin' Up! through March 31st of this year.  Who doesn't love free stamps?  To see all of the products available during Sale-a-Bration this year please click on the SAB link in the sidebar of my blog.

This card was one of the 3 projects we did at my January "3-4-$5" class for my meetup group. find out about my 3-4-$5 classes here! and it was inspired by a card layout I found on the blog of my fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrator, Mary Brown.  I love the very talented Miss Mary's "clean and simple" style and enjoy visiting her StamperCamper blog often for inspiration. Visit Mary's Blog here

The card is "white on white" using some of the newest "In Colors"  2012-2013 to brighten it up. How lucky that there is coordinating satin stitched ribbon in the same colors!
Here's what I did:
- used Gumball Green, Primrose Pink and Midnight Muse to stamp the butterflies, then punched them out with the matching Bitty butterfly punch (new item in the Spring Mini!)
-adhered each butterfly to a tiny punched scallop circle (also new!)  then used a Stampin' Dimensional to stick each scallop to a 4" square of white card stock
-layered  the whole thing on a 4 3/8th inch scalloped square.

(Hint: You have to enlarge the photo to really see it but I snipped the scalloped circles at each scallop and "feathered" them up a little around each butterfly)

-there is a little snippet of folded ribbon from each color under the bottom left corner of the scalloped square as a little accent.
-stamped he sentiment "oh happy day" in the top right corner using Primrose Pink.
-there's a lot of stamping on that little square so I kept the rest of the card very simple by layering it onto a folded white card with the top portion run thru the Fancy Fan embossing folder.
