Puppies! and a Uncharted Territory lighthouse crimper card

I have been neglecting my blog but for a very good reason!  I'm working this holiday week-end plus we have had some VERY special guests visiting us!  My son and his new bride adopted two darling little ones shortly after returning from their honeymoon.....they are 4 legged cuties from the local pound and we got to meet them this week!  Josh and his wife Kelsey were in town for the holiday week-end in honor of her Dad's birthday and a surprise party for him but stopped over to see us and take in a Cardinal's game enroute to the party and they brought the puppies!  We are dog lovers from way back so it was so much fun to meet the pups while they were little and we have been making the most of it.  Because they would be busy most of the week-end and because Kelsey wasn't sure how well the puppies would get along with the cats at her parents home, we were delighted when they asked if we could "puppy sit" for the week-end.  What a question!  We have really enjoyed having them around...puppies are so cute, who could resist them?  They will be heading home tomorrow so we'll have to give them back but we sure have enjoyed having them around...not entirely sure that our two 9 year old Lab mix dogs would say the same but it has been interesting watching them interact and they are getting along nicely as long as the puppies steer clear of their food bowls at feeding time.  ;-)

Here is a picture of me with the puppies....they will probably be much bigger the next time I see them but I'm glad we got to meet them as little ones and here is a picture to prove it.  Lucy is the black dog and Daisy is the yellow dog with the white patch.  Gotta love that puppy breath! It's a better picture of the dogs than it is of me...I was smiling but the camera caught me with my eyes shut.

This card was done the same way as the crimper card with the owl I posted a few days ago, I was messing around with the lighthouse image and thought I would just give it a try and see how it fit.  I was pleased with the way this card turned out....love lighthouses and am always looking for new ideas for them. The image still showed up pretty well despite the crimping on the card.  What do you think?

This card was stamped on confetti white cardstock with black StazOn ink and watercolored with Bashful Blue for the sky and Marina Mist for the ocean, a little Crumb Cake for the cliff and Old Olive for the grasses. I colored in the tip with Real Red and shaded just a bit on the lighthouse with Basic Grey, although it's hard to see it in the photo.  Later I realized that the top of the lighthouse should have been colored yellow...that's where the light would be, right?  I fixed that on subsequent cards but wanted to show how nice the lighthouse looked on the crimper style card so I didn't mind the boo boo.  I sponged Real Red all around the edges of the confetti layer and around the scored edges around the center panel, layered it all on a layer of Night of Navy cardstock then adhered it to a folded white card.  Have a wonderful Labor Day holiday!

Very nice. I have this stamp set, but I never would have thought of using it this way. TFS!
