I work at a great Family Practice doctors' office in my little (well, maybe not so little?) town in O'Fallon, IL and for the last couple of years I have helped out the staff volunteering to organize the office Christmas party...this year was no exception. This is the "prototype" of the card we'll be sending out this year....I made up a couple of sample cards and took them in for the others to "vote" and we decided on something along the lines of this card. Except we switched it up a little bit and used Concord Crush (a nice rich purple!) for the cardstock layer underneath the silver.
Since we needed to make about 60 cards and fast, I stayed with something easy to mass produce. We used a great silver metallic cardstock for the top layer and embossed that in the Big shot with the new Northern Flurries snowflake embossing folder. the "you're invited' image is from an old SU set long ago retired (I think it was one of the 3 styles of All Year Cheer but can't recall exactly which...I just know that we use the same image year after year on our office Christmas Party invitations). The image fits perfectly in the wide oval punch (anything that can be punched out is a huge timesaving plus for me!) then layered it on one of the tag images in the Sizzix Tag set (it's a set of 4 and this particular one matches the wide oval very nicely) before mounting it onto the silver metallic layer. The You're Invited for this sample was stamped in black then layered onto the black tag, but for our holiday invite we stamped and layered with Concord Crush. After that, the silver layer was adhered to the colored cardstock and finally layered onto a 1/2 sheet of white cardstock scored and folded in half for a standard "invitation size" (A2) card and envelope.
I will snap a photo of the actual invite from this year once they are finished and share it with you later...thanks for looking! And too bad you can't come to the office party...it's always a lot of fun and this year we are back at the Cardinal's clubroom at Busch Stadium in STL. Those nice folks at the Cardinals' stadium really know how to throw a great party!
